BNZ Cuts Mortgage Rates Ahead of Expected OCR Reduction
BNZ has lowered several fixed home loan rates in anticipation of an official cash rate (OCR) cut expected next week.
The bank announced it had reduced its one-year fixed mortgage rate by 10 basis points to 4.79 percent, and its six-month fixed rate by 20 basis points to 5.09 percent.
The changes apply not only to new customers, but also to existing borrowers in their rollover period or currently on variable rates.
Earlier this week, ANZ also trimmed some of its lending rates, cutting its one-year fixed special rate to 4.79 percent.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is widely expected to cut the OCR by at least 25 basis points to 3.00 percent on August 20, according to market forecasts.
BNZ, 기준금리 인하 앞두고 주택담보대출 금리 인하
BNZ가 다음 주 예상되는 공식현금금리(OCR) 인하를 앞두고 일부 고정 주택대출 금리를 인하했다.
BNZ는 1년 고정 주택담보대출 금리를 10bp(베이시스포인트) 인하해 4.79%로, 단기 6개월 고정금리를 20bp 내린 5.09%로 조정했다고 밝혔다.
이번 금리 인하는 신규 고객뿐 아니라 대출 만기 전환(rollover) 기간에 있는 기존 고객이나 변동금리 대출 이용 고객에게도 적용된다.
앞서 ANZ은행도 이번 주 초 일부 금리를 인하했으며, 1년 고정 특별금리를 4.79%로 내렸다.
뉴질랜드 중앙은행(RBNZ)은 오는 8월 20일 최소 25bp 인하해 기준금리를 3.00%로 조정할 것이라는 전망이 금융권 전반에서 우세하다.
